Student Activities Council

Chaired by the SGA Vice President for Student Activities, the Student Activites Council (SAC) is the campus-wide programming body of SGA. Meetings are on Monday evenings at 5:30pm in the Kennamer Room in the Powell Student Center.

This council of students initiates, promotes, and implements programs including major concerts, lectures, comedians, musicians, and a variety of special events to meet the needs of the student body.

Standing Committees of SAC

  • The Special Events Committee
    Chaired by:  
    Plans special events such as the President's Ball, Halloween Ball, Homecoming events, and Family Weekend activities.

  • The Cultural Arts & Education Committee
    Co-Chaired by: 
    Develops programs that feature varied ideologies, cultures, religions, lifestyles, and social issues.
  • The  Featured Performance Committee
    Chaired by:  
    Executes select performance events targeting larger audiences, including music, comedy, drama, dance and other large scale productions.
  • The Weekenders Committee
    Chaired by:  
    Selects events that are designed to retain students on campus during the weekend and appeal to resident students in particular.
