The administration of Ritchie Rednour was relativily quiet with no notable controversies. Rednour did oversee three notable resignations during his tenure. The first, and likely most notable resignation Rednour saw, was that of university President Robert Kustra. The second, Vice President Jessica Humphrey, resigned due to her graduation in December 2000. Finally, Chair of Academic Affairs David Aker, was requested by Rednour to resign from his chair position due to their leadership styles not being "congruent." Rednour also stated that Aker's, "desires weren't cohesive with those of the senate's."
Following his tenure, he would serve as chair of the EKU Foundation Board. It was also discovered that, like his predecessor, he failed to qualify as a full time student during his tenure and was in violation of both the SGA constitution and state law as a result. No consequences were levied.
Following gradution, Rednour would work as a real estate broker based out of Clay City, Kentucky. He would return to EKU to serve as a member of the EKU Foundation Board, and would donate $100,000 dollars in 2017 to establish the Ritchie Rednour Endowed Scholarship for students in EKU's service region during their final semester.
Rednour would find himself embroiled in legal issues when he was indicted on charges of fraud and money laundering in September 2022. It was discovered that in 2018, Rednour had obtained over $170,000 dollars in bank loans on false pretenses in an attempt to repay over $1 million dollars of debt. In October 2023, Rednour pled guilty to bank fraud in exchange for the other charges being dropped, and was sentenced to five months in prison, five years probation, and for full restitution to be paid to the First National Bank of Grayson.
